GALLOWAY, N.J. – The TCNJ Women's Cross Country team ran a strong race in the 6k to place fifth overall at the Osprey Open Saturday morning.
Competing in the first away course of the season, the Lions finished second among the NJAC teams competing in the meet, only falling behind host Stockton as the team scored 166 points.
FINISH LINE SNAPSHOTS
- Freshman Molly Burke led the way by placing 22nd with a time of 25:05.9 in her first ever collegiate race in the event.
- Fellow first year Lauren Barker finished second for the blue and gold with a time of 25:30.1 in 31st place.
- The junior duo of Riley Stellitano and Carmelina Sanci placed 41st and 43rd with times of 26:05.0 and 26:06.8, respectively.
- Freshman Sophia Gambescia placed 48th with a time of 26:13.3 as the fifth Lion to cross the finish line.
- Sophomore Liz Claros and freshman Rebeca Pereyra rounded out the top seven for TCNJ with times of 26:44.3 and 28:06.6 to place 59th and 78th, respectively.
UP NEXT
The Lions head out to Carlisle, Pa. next weekend to take on the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational. The start time is scheduled at noon.
