NEW YORK, N.Y.- The TCNJ men's track and field team kicked off the new year at the Lions Indoor Invitational at the 168th St. Armory on Friday, putting up some impressive numbers in the process.

Freshman Jack Attali highlighted the Lions once again, winning both the 60-meter hurdles and the 300-meter run. He ran a personal best in both races with a time of 8.15 in the hurdles and the fifth-best time in DIII of 34.86 in the 300. This also breaks his previous record of 34.90 seconds that he set at the Joe Handelman Invitational on December 9th.

Ray Schmitt had a personal best time of his own in the 60-meter dash, running to the tune of 6.91 seconds and second place for the event. He also tallied the best time for the Lions in the 200-meter dash, taking ninth with a time of 22.99.

In the weight, Zach Mackiewicz took third after a heave of 16.66 meters. Along with this, he took fifth in the shot put after a mark of 13.92 meters. Just ahead of him in fourth place for the shot put was Stephen Daramola, who marked a distance of 14.56 meters. Luke Schrank-Garcia finished fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.74 meters.

Another freshman to run well at the Lions Indoor Invitational was Brandon Chen, who came in fourth for the 3000-meter run after crossing the finish line at 8:34.07.

Junior Matt Granizo ran a personal best time of 4:24.95 in the mile, good enough for fifth-place in the event.

The Lions will lace up the spikes again next Saturday at the Ithaca Quad Meet.
