EWING, N.J. – On senior day, the TCNJ women's swimming and diving team saw stellar races throughout its dual meet against Montclair State on Saturday afternoon at the TCNJ Aquatic Center.
The Lions (1-6) won five total events and placed among the top three 17 different times throughout the meet. The final score saw the Red Hawks come out on top, 160-126.
Prior to the meet, the program honored its 2024 senior class of
Sarah Burton and
Mackenzie Wall.
TOP THREE FINISHERS
- Starting off the meet, the Lions' 200 medley relay team of Colleen Scanlon, Lilliana Kuball, Bridget Cleveland and Mary Kate Owens finished the race in second place with a relay time of 1:52.89.
- Burton finished second for the 1000 free, as the senior touched in 11:09.98 to lead the Lions. Burton also finished as the runner up in the 500 free with a time of 5:28.42. The senior also took third in the 50 free with a time of 26.10.
- Sophomore Bridget Cleveland secured the victory for the blue and gold in the 200 free after clocking a time of 1:59.69. In the 200 back, Cleveland touched in third with her time of 2:17.51.
- In the 100 breast, freshman standout Lilliana Kuball recorded the win by touching first in 1:08.22. The freshman followed up with a second place finish in the 100 free, clocking in at 55.56 seconds.
- Freshman Katie Mazzacco finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:32.47.
- Sophomore Nisha Narayanan placed second for the 200 fly with a time of 2:22.47. She would follow up with a third place time of 1:02.75 in the 100 fly.
- The Lions closed out the meet on top, as the 400 free relay team of Mazzacco, Kuball, Kate Owens and Cleveland won the event with a combined time of 3:45.94.
- Competing as an exhibition event, the 400 IM saw Burton finish runner up with her time of 4:58.91.
ON THE BOARD
- Sophomore Beth Evaldi had a stellar day on the boards, securing a pair of wins. In the 3-meter six dives, Evaldi won the event with a top score of 254.85, before winning the 1-meter six dives with a mark of 259.58.
- Sophomore Melody Lin placed second in the 3-meter six dives with a mark of 201.90, and also placed third in the 1-meter with a score of 187.95.
- Junior Erin Sommers took third in the 3-meter six dives with a score of 167.33.
UP NEXT
With the regular season officially concluded, the Lions will take on the inaugural NJAC Championship meet next month, February 15-18. The meet will take place on the campus of the University of Maryland.
