STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- The TCNJ men's track and field team finished second for the fourth consecutive season at the NJAC Championships on Monday night, finishing with a team total of 113 points.

Ray Schmitt was the top athlete for the Lions on Monday night, claiming one of two individual titles for TCNJ in the 60-meter dash. His time of 6.81 second broke the previous school record of 6.89 seconds. Schmitt was also on the 4x200 team including
Justin Gomez,
Jack Attali and
Tyrese Gilbert that earned second after a time of 1:30.02.

Attali was the other athlete for TCNJ to win an individual title in the 200-meter dash, claiming first with after running to the tune of 21.94 seconds.

Rounding out the first-place recipients for the Blue & Gold was
Kevin Matthews,
Aidan Ferraez,
Michael Rodriguez and
Brandon Chen as their time of 10:26.60 is a team-best this season.

Senior
Zach Mackiewicz threw his way to second place in the weight throw, heaving a mark of 17.32 meters.
George Agyei-Sam,
Luke Schrank-Garcia, and
Steve Daramola also added team points for TCNJ, taking fourth, fifth and seventh consecutively with marks of 15.88, 15.70 and 14.99 meters.

Matt Granizo added another second-place finish for the Lions in the 5000-meter run after his time of 15:19.28. Freshman
Evan Melito finished eighth in his conference championship debut with a time of 15:39.12.

Kevin Matthews was the top of three TCNJ runners in the mile, taking third-place after running 4:20.94, a personal best for the sophomore.
Roman Fabbricatore and Chen were also in the top eight, finishing the race in fifth and seventh.

In the shot put,
Jayden Wright was the top thrower for TCNJ, seizing fourth place after a distance of 14.43 meters. Agyei-Sam and Mackiewicz picked up more team points for the Lions, finishing fifth and sixth respectively.

The Lions will head back to Staten Island on Friday for the Fastrack Last Chance Meet, starting at 1 PM.
