The TCNJ men's track and field team concluded an eventful three-day weekend of split-squad competition both across the country at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational, as well as closely to home at the Sam Howell Invitational throughout Thursday to Saturday.
TEXAS RELAYS – NOTABLE FINISHERS
- Competing among a field made up mostly of division I sprinters in the 100 meter timed finals, senior Raymond Schmitt placed 57th among a field of 109 runners after dashing through the line at 10.56 seconds.
- Making his collegiate outdoor event debut in the 110 meter hurdles timed finals, freshman Jack Attali crossed the finish line 41st overall with a time of 14.94 seconds.
- In the 4x100 meter relay timed finals, the TCNJ quartet of Schmitt, Attali, Tyler Scott and Justin Gomez placed 14th after crossing the finish line in 42.20 seconds.
- Similarly, in the 4x400 meter relay timed finals, the group of Attali, Scott, Lucas Lattimer and Tyrese Gilbert also finished 14th with a time of 3:30.67.
BOBCAT INVITATIONAL – TOP 20 FINISHERS
ON THE TRACK
- In the 5000 meters, junior Matthew Granizo came in 12th place with a time of 15:27.35.
- Junior Michael Rodrigeuz crossed the line 20th overall for the 1500 meters after clocking a 3:59.03.
- In the 4x400 meter relay, TCNJ's relay team of Gilbert, Lattimer, Attali and Scott crossed the finish line in 16th after clocking a combined time of 3:27.12.
IN THE FIELD
- The shotput saw sophomore Jayden Wright claim fifth after recording his third-best collegiate mark of 14.63m (48-00). Also placing among the top-20 was junior George Agyei-Sam in 17th with his toss of 12.86m (42-02.25).
- In the discus throw, senior Zachary Mackiewicz came in 14th with his top throw of 44.77m (146-10).
- Senior Luke Schrank Garcia placed 16th in the hammer throw with his mark of 44.74m (146-09)
SAM HOWELL INVITATIONAL – TOP 10 FINISHERS
- Junior Alexander Bogues placed sixth in javelin with a toss of 49.13m (161-2).
- Sophomore Vincent Rizzi took ninth in long jump after clearing a mark of 6.08m (19-11.5).
UP NEXT
The Lions return to action next Friday and Saturday to compete in the Ebanks Invitational. Starting times for both days are set for noon.
