NEWARK, N.J. – In Saturday morning's Highlander Invitational, the TCNJ women's cross country team finished in third place with by placing their top seven runners inside of the top-50.
At the race hosted by NJIT, the Lions finished ahead of every other Division III program in the race. Freshman
Krista Purnell paced her team with a time of 19:30.1 over the 5K course, finishing 14
th overall.
Lilla Porter (23

Alissa Stumpf (26
th, 20:43.2), and
Ella Feehan (27
th, 20:50.2) joined Purnell among the top-30 finishers. Rounding out the Lions' top seven runners were
Kristen Smerdon (41
st, 21:35.0),
Anna Marino (43
rd, 21:47.6), and
Mia Zicchinella (47
th, 22:11.1).
As a team, the Lions finished in third place; the only teams to finish ahead of them were Army West Point (Division I) and Molloy (Division II).
Next up for the Lions is the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Connecticut on October 18.
