WATERFORD, CT – In an enormous field which included 16 nationally ranked teams, 5 top-5 teams, and over 350 runners, the TCNJ women's cross country team placed 24
th out of 33 teams.
In the main championship race,
Naesha Gadie was the first Lion across the line; she ran the 6K course in 22:39.57 to place 94
th overall.
Teagan Walker (117
th, 22:56.18),
Ella Daly (146
th, 23:14.01),
Alex Grivas (162
nd, 23:22.85), and
Savannah Hodgens (176
th, 23:35.10) followed to join Gadie among the top 200 finishers. Rounding out TCNJ's top 8 runners at the event were
Malissa Morabito (215
th, 24:01.12),
Ava Biemuller (219
th, 24:10.04), and
Noelle Falzone (256
th, 25:39.37).
Four TCNJ runners also competed in the overflow race.
Krista Purnell – who was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week for her performance last week – logged another good run. She finished 91
st overall with a time of 24:10.10. Next across the line was
Taylor Rooney, who placed 193
rd in 25:32.80, and rounding out the runners for the Lions in the overflow race were
Lilla Porter (219
th, 26:03.00) and
Olivia Sullivan (229
th, 26:15.30).
Coming up next for the Lions are the NJAC Championships, which will take place on Saturday, November 1.
