EWING, N.J. – On Saturday afternoon, the TCNJ women's swimming team fell to #24 Salisbury, 58-204. Elsewhere, three TCNJ divers qualified for regionals on the 1-meter dive.
For the swim team,
Katie Mazzacco came the closest to a win for TCNJ in the 200 Free. She logged a solid time of 2:00.38 and was just one-tenth of a second slower than the winner from Salisbury.
Mary Kate Owens also came close to a win, as she finished in second place in the 100 Free. In the event, Owens set a new PR with a time of 55.97.
As for the diving team, the TCNJ divers traveled to NYU for a two-day meet while the swimmers competed against Salisbury. On the first day, the trio of
Beth Evaldi (264.60),
Hannah Simons (252.10), and
Melody Lin (243.55), all made the NCAA regional cuts on the 1-meter. The second day saw PR dives from
Jenna Ringel,
Hannah Simons, and
Tala Howe. Evaldi also came very close to knocking off an All-American diver from NYU on the second day, falling short by just a few fractions of a point.
Next up for the Lions is the TCNJ Invitational, a three-day home meet which will take place from Friday, November 21 until Sunday, November 23.
