Women's T&F Excels at TCNJ Indoor Open

NEW YORK, N.Y. – On Saturday, much of the TCNJ women's track and field squad traveled to the Armory to start their new season. The Lions set several new PRs in what turned out as a strong start to the 2025-2026 indoor campaign.

 
ON THE TRACK
  • Dallas Walther (8.15) and Petra Doherty (8.18) set new PRs in the 60m prelims.
  • Rukky Daranijo and Kelsey Thomas set new PRs in the 300m as they finished 4th and 5th respectively. Daranijo ran a 40.89 while Thomas posted a 41.01.
  • Kelly O'Grady finished runner-up in the 600m, setting a new PR with a time of 1:37.04. Brenna Omert finished 4th in that race.
  • TCNJ's A relay of Mackenzie Burke, O'Grady, Omert, and Daranijo won the 4x400m with a time of 3:58.78. TCNJ's B relay also placed in 5th (4:09.92) with a faster tie than the A relay from Drew.
 
IN THE FIELD
  • Sophia Roberts equaled her PR in the long jump (4.76m).
  • Allison Lavin was 2nd in the shot put (11.54m) and in the weight throw (15.18m). Her performance on the weight throw set a new PR.
  • In the triple jump, Hannah Hafer got 3rd (10.33) and Erin McGauley finished in 5th (10.26).
  • Emerson Lavins placed 3rd in the pole vault (3.17m) behind two athletes from Columbia.
The next action for TCNJ will be back at the Armory on January 9 for the Lions Indoor Invitational.
