NEW ORLEANS - Three members of the TCNJ men's cross country team were named All-Academic Athletes, as released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) last week.

The Lions' Roman Fabbricatore, Kevin Matthews and Philip Pace all garnered national recognition by having a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.30 and finishing in the top-25 percent of the 2024 Metro Region Championship.

Fabbricatore, a senior communications major, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.98 and was a first-time All-Region honoree after finishing 22nd at the Metro Region Championship with a personal-best time of 25:40.3.

Matthews claimed the second All-Region honors of his career after finishing 24th with a time of 25:42.7 in the 8K Championship, and holds a 3.53 cumulative GPA as a management major to garner the USTFCCCA recognition.

Pace, the NJAC Rookie of the Year, rounded out the Lions' honorees. The freshman boasts a 3.92 GPA as an engineering major and placed 30th in a field of 186 at the Metro Region Championship with a personal-best time of 25:48.5.

The TCNJ men's cross country program was also recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, which is awarded to teams that have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.10 on a 4.0 scale – the Lions finished the fall semester with a 3.26.
