EWING, N.J. – Matthew Solomon of TCNJ men's basketball was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday afternoon by the organization.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 15 (men) and April 16 (women).
A marketing major, Solomon is a repeat Academic All-District honoree.
Solomon enjoyed another tremendous campaign, averaging just shy of a double-double (11.6 PPG, 9.8 RPG) and receiving All-NJAC honorable mention while controlling the paint for a Lions team that made a return trip to the NCAA Tournament.
He led the NJAC in both rebounding and double-doubles (11), ranking in the top-30 nationally in total rebounds (274, 16
th), double-doubles (27
th), and rebounds per game (29
th). Solomon led the Lions in field-goal percentage at 51.6 percent, also draining a career-high 19 3-pointers.
Solomon put up the biggest numbers of his career in the NCAA Tournament against Pitt-Bradford, scoring 21 points and hauling in a program-record 22 rebounds. He will enter his senior season fifth on the all-time charts in career rebounds (705).
