Women's T&F Shines Through Rainy Outdoor Invite

EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's track and field team hosted its annual outdoor invitational over three days, highlighted by a trio of first-place finishes among a bevy of standout performances despite chilly and rainy conditions.
 
THURSDAY
  • Allison Lavin's toss of 32.91 meters placed her fourth in the javelin and marked a new personal best, and Lily Lorio was right behind in fifth place with a heave of 32.57 meters
FRIDAY
  • Kerri McCarthy moved up to 34th in Division III with a career-best mark of 49.12 meters to win the hammer throw
  • Jessica Reilly (3rd, 46.38m) and Allison Lavin (5th, 45.19m) also placed inside the top-5 in the hammer
  • Sarah Scepkowski was second in the heptathlon with a score of 3,929 points, behind only an unattached athlete
SATURDAY TRACK
  • Petra Doherty won the 200-meter dash in an outdoor-best time of 26.31 seconds
  • Eliza Bruncaj took first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.75 that ranks in the top-75 in the country
  • Kelly O'Grady (59.07) and Rukky Daranijo (59.37) finished second and third, respectively, in the 400-meter dash
  • Brenna Omert was runner-up in the 800 meters (2:22.80)
  • Cassidy Quinn took second in the 1500 meters with a clocking of 4:52.88, a new personal best
  • Dallas Walther placed 5th in the 100-meter dash at 13.01 seconds
SATURDAY FIELD
  • Lavin (personal-best 11.55 meters) and McCarthy (11.52m) placed second and third in the shot put
  • Doherty and Abigail Pfaff each cleared 1.43 meters in the high jump
