BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Ray Schmitt,
Maxim Rychkov,
Noah Traverso, and
Jack Attali took down a record that had stood for more than two decades, running the 4x100-meter relay in a blazing 41.05 seconds at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational on Friday.
The Lions' quartet broke the previous program benchmark of 41.11 seconds, originally set in 2002 by Karim Cockrell, Eric Green, Matt Miller, and Bob Dumas. It was second to Susquehanna's time of 40.74 seconds, but enough to move all the way up to 8
th on the Division III outdoor performance list.
Rychov (10.62) and Schmitt (10.78) went 1-2 in the 100-meter dash prelims before sitting out the finals heat.
At Widener's Paul Donahue Invitational,
Brandon Chen led a large TCNJ contingent in the 5,000 meters with an eighth-place showing (14:46.69).
