Men's Track & Field 4x400 Sets School Record at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. - The TCNJ men's track and field team was at the Widener Final Qualifier for its final tune-up before the AARTFC Championship later this week. The Lions' efforts were highlighted by a heroic showing from the 4x400 team, which broke the program record and moved into the top five in Division III to all but secure their spot in the NCAA Championships.
 
ON THE TRACK
  • TCNJ's 4x400 quartet of Noah Traverso, Anthony Senatore, Nate Adams and Maxim Rychkov was the top-finishing Division III school in the event, placing second and moving up to fifth in the national rankings with their time of 3:10.70
  • LeBron Rose was terrific in his 400-meter hurdles debut, posting a time of 57.25 to rank just outside the top-100 nationally
  • Thomas Blach also moved into the top 100 nationally in the 800, crossing the line in 1:53.14 to take 26th at the meet
  • Tyrese Gilbert finished eighth in a field of over 30 competitors in the 400, crossing the line in 49.83
  • Michael Rodriguez and Kevin Matthews placed 24th and 25th respectively in the 1500, finishing in 3:55.47 and 3:55.63
IN THE FIELD
  • Steve Daramola moved into the top 50 in Division III in the discus, clearing 48.14 meters on his final attempt to jump from seventh to fourth. The senior also finished 11th in the hammer with his mark of 50.24 meters
  • Tyler Kadezabek and Elan Krakow both capped out at 4.05 meters in the pole vault, with Kadezabek finishing in 10th while Krakow placed 13th due to the number of attempts taken

  • The Lions are back in action Wednesday, May 14 to compete at the AARTFC Championship.
