5/13/2025 12:00:00 PM

EWING, N.J. – Four members of the TCNJ men's tennis team were recognized with Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced on Tuesday.

Harrison Maitland-Carter, Brett Schuster, Alberto Thomas, and Asa Wong were all rewarded for their standout performances both in the classroom and on the court.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced next month.

A Finance major with a 3.88 GPA, Maitland-Carter was named WIAC East Division Player of the Year in 2025, also making it three straight years of receiving all-conference awards in both singles and doubles. A two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, he was 13-3 at No. 1 doubles alongside Wong and finished 11-6 in the top singles slot for the Lions.

Also two-time Academic All-District honorees, Schuster and Thomas paired together for another season and finished 9-7 in the No. 2 doubles flight. Thomas, a Mathematics major with a 3.92 GPA, was 8-8 at No. 2 singles, while Schuster – a Finance major sporting a 3.83 GPA – held down the No. 3 singles position. The duo played to All-WIAC East honors both singles and doubles, marking their second such honor as doubles partners.

An Interactive Multimedia major with a 3.72 GPA, Wong collected All-WIAC doubles honors alongside Maitland-Carter, giving the Lions a strong top pairing.
