Rychkov to Compete at USATF U20 Championships

6/18/2025 10:51:00 AM

EWING, N.J. - TCNJ men's track & field's Maxim Rychkov is headed to historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon to compete in the USA Track & Field U20 Championships this week. This marks the second consecutive year TCNJ has had a runner qualify for the national meet – Jack Attali represented the Lions in the 110-meter hurdles a season ago – with Rychkov set to compete in both the 100 and 200-meter sprints.

The freshman phenom will take on a loaded field featuring runners from all divisions, with a top-6 finish making him eligible for the USA U20 World team that is set to compete at the World U20 Championships in Tokyo, Japan this September.

Rychkov was untouchable in his first season in Ewing, sweeping the NJAC's Outstanding Track Athlete awards in both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Already a five-time All-American, the freshman ranks in the top 20 in Division III in the 100 (10.45s) and is one of just nine student-athletes in DIII to run a sub 21-second 200 (20.98) – both times are the fastest in the Metro Region. Among DIII freshmen, Rychkov ranks third in the 100 and second in the 200.

Thursday's 100 prelims are scheduled for 4:21 p.m. while the 200 prelims will take place Friday at 4:20 p.m. The complete schedule for the meet can be found here.
