6/25/2025 12:28:00 PM

EWING, N.J. - The TCNJ women's cross country and track and field teams had five student-athletes selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization earlier this week. Kerri McCarthy, Kelly O'Grady and Cassidy Quinn are all two-time honorees, while this is the first selection for Eliza Bruncaj and Mackenzie Burke.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

An Early Childhood/Special Education major with a 3.58 GPA, Bruncaj put together another impressive year on the track en route to her first CSC Academic All-District selection. The senior was a Second Team All-NJAC honoree in the 60-meter hurdles as well as an Honorable Mention selection in the 400-meter hurdles, adding All-Metro Region status in both the 100-meter hurdles and pentathlon to push her season total to four. Bruncaj was at her best late in the season, earning the fifth All-American nod of her career with her 13th-place finish in the 400 hurdles.

Burke combined her prowess in the relays with a 3.87 GPA as a Nursing major to secure her first Academic All-District nod in her first eligible season. The sophomore did it all for the Lions, earning four All-NJAC honors – including a first-place finish in the 4x100 – and four All-Metro Region selections during the season. Burke was also a part of the 4x400 team that took the 4x400 title at the AARTFC Championships.

A Criminology major with a 3.83 GPA, McCarthy saved her best for last in her final season at TCNJ. The senior earned an All-NJAC Honorable mention nod in the weight throw during the indoor season before taking over in outdoors, finishing as the NJAC and AARTFC Champion in the Hammer Throw, also earning All-Metro Region honors while finishing with the 25th-best mark in Division III (52.16 meters)

O'Grady is now a back-to-back Academic All-District honoree after finishing the year with a 3.96 GPA as a Criminology major. The junior was a four-time All-NJAC Second Team and All-Metro Region selection in the 800 and 4x400 in 2025, also finishing as an AARTFC Champion as a part of TCNJ's 4x400 team.

Quinn rounds out the Lions' Academic All-District selections with the second of her career. Having earned her master's degree in iSTEM with a 3.79 cumulative GPA, the graduate student was a First Team All-NJAC honoree and NCAA qualifier in cross country before earning All-Conference First Team and All-Metro Region honors in the 10,000 during the outdoor track season.

NCAA and NAIA Women's Track & Field Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
