SALISBURY, MD – The TCNJ women's cross country team battled through rain and humidity on Saturday, taking 5
th place at the Don Cathcart Invitational.
It was anything but ideal running conditions for the nine teams in the race, with the rain muddying up the course. The Lions also faced some strong competition, such as Salisbury, Christopher Newport, Navy, and Delaware State.
Five Lions competed in the 6K race for TCNJ. Leading the pack was freshman
Malissa Morabito, who finished in 23
rd with a time of 24:01.30. Next was
Mia Zicchinella, who ran to a 40
th-place finish in 25:09.80. Finally, it was
Alissa Stumpf (25:46.20),
Ella Feehan (26:05.50), and
Kristen Smerdon (26:09.90) finishing in 52
nd, 54
th, and 55
th respectively.
As a squad, the Lions finished with 143 points, placing 5
th behind Navy (24), Christopher Newport (55), Salisbury (67), and Delaware State (117).
