ITHACA, N.Y. – On Saturday afternoon, the TCNJ track and field squads were in action in New York against Ithaca, Cortland, and Oneonta. The Lions put in strong performances all around, securing numerous regional qualifications while ending the day well above the rest of the field.
ON THE TRACK
- TCNJ's distance runners took five out the top six spots in the mile, with Phil Pace leading the group with a time of 4:20.83. Pace, Brandon Chen (2nd, 4:20.83), and Kevin Matthews (3rd, 4:21.70) all surpassed the regional qualifying standard in the event. Pace triumphed again in the 3000m, qualifying for regionals in that event as well with his time of 8:45.69. TCNJ runners took the top six spots of the 3000m.
- Jack Attali (1st, 8.24) and Jayvee Dumas (2nd, 8.49) finished in first and second place respectively in the 60m hurdles, securing regional qualifications in the process.
- In the 400m, TCNJ took three of the top five spots. Anthony Senatore led the way, winning the event with his time of 50.17. Noah Traverso qualified for regionals in the 200m with a winning time of 22.18. Traverso also finished 4th in the 60m (7.11).
- Thomas Blach earned a regional qualification in the 800m with his first-place time of 1:55.43. Brody Dillich placed second in that event (2:00.16).
- Finally, the team of Traverso, Senatore, Attali, and Maxim Rychkov won the 4x400 with a regional-qualifying time of 3:22.32.
IN THE FIELD
The Lions will now get ready for next weekend's two-day Liberty Open in Lynchburg, Virginia.
