LYNCHBURG, Va. – To beat the over two feet of forecasted weekend snow in central Virginia, the Lions got the Liberty Open done in one day instead of the originally scheduled two. TCNJ got two wins in the field full of teams from all three NCAA divisions, making it a successful road trip for the Lions.
Thomas Blach highlighted the day by posting a DIII top-10 time.
Thomas Blach won the 800m with a time of 1:53.49, a season best and currently a top-10 time in Division III.
Kevin Matthews placed in third in the mile in a new PR of 4:16.33, which is currently a top-25 time in Division III.
In the 400m, Lebron Rose and
Anthony Senatore finished 15
th and 17
th respectively. Rose posted a 49.58 (a top-50 Division III time) and Senatore posted a season-best 49.97.
The relay of
Noah Traverso, Senatore,
Jack Attali, and
Maxim Rychkov claimed a second win for the Lions, getting it done in the 4x400 with a time of 3:18.04. Traverso also ran in the 200m, finishing 14
th with a season-best time of 21.95.
TCNJ track and field will be in action next tomorrow, January 24, at the Hound Classic in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
