EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's swimming and diving team celebrated senior day by battling against Montclair State. Before the meet, the Lions' eight seniors —
Bridget Cleveland,
Beth Evaldi,
Katelyn Gaulin,
Sofia Hall,
Jillian Kenney,
Melody Lin,
Maya Randall, and
Campbell Wall — were honored, alongside graduate assistant
Bella Miletich.
Riding the celebratory mood, the Lions started with wins in the first four events. TCNJ's A relay started off with a win in the 200 medley relay, followed up by
Katie Mazzacco's win in the 1000 freestyle (11:04.26). Senior
Bridget Cleveland went next by winning the 200 freestyle (1:59.45), and
Shaye Bundonis picked up a win in the 100 backstroke (1:01.04).
The Red Hawks would win most of the events after the initial four, but Cleveland was able to secure her second win of the meet in the 200 backstroke (2:12.98) before the individual events were done. The Lions ended the weekend on a high note, with their A relay winning the 400 freestyle relay. The Red Hawks, however, would eke out a narrow 153.5-144.5 win.
After having finished up their home slate for this season, the Lions now look ahead to next Saturday's USMMA Invite.
