NEWARK, N.J. – The TCNJ women's cross country team battled at the NJIT XC Invitational on Saturday, earning an eighth-place finish out of 24 teams in Newark.
Lilla Porter led the way for the Lions over the 5-kilometer course, finishing in 32
nd with a time of 19:32.94. Amaya Zorilla crossed the finish line a few spots later in 35
th (19:39.51), making it two Lions to log a sub-20 time on the weekend.
Alissa Stumpf (69
th, 20:53.77) and
Mia Zicchinella (75
th, 21:04.11) were next for TCNJ, and they were followed by
Alyssa Maybeck (87
th, 21:39.14) and
Layla Guarcello (89
th, 21:44.37).
Olivia Sullivan (94
th, 21:59.10),
Vanessa Edwards (100
th, 22:21.25), and
Anna Marino (122
nd, 23:23.71) rounded out the group in action for TCNJ. The Lions logged 259 points on the day, good enough for eighth overall and third out of the Division III teams in the field.
TCNJ will travel further north next weekend, as the Connecticut College Invitational is up next for the Lions on October 17.
