COATESVILLE, Pa. – The TCNJ women's cross country team continued its trend of positive performances on Saturday, finishing as the top Division III team in the field at the Purple and Gold Open.
 
Just as she did to start the season's competitive slate, Ananya Raja led the Lions in the race. The freshman placed fourth in 16:40.1 in the 4-kilometer course. Fellow freshman Chloe Mellott crossed the finish line a few seconds later in sixth (16:52.3), and sophomore Alissa Stumpf made it a trio of Lions in the top ten with a tenth-place finish in 17:18.2.
 
TCNJ had three other runners in the field: Mia Zicchinella, Olivia Sullivan, and Vanessa Edwards. Zicchinella finished in 12^th (17:43.6), Sullivan in 14^th (18:08.7), and Edwards in 16^th (18:25.0).
 
The Lions will run in Pennsylvania again next Friday, this time in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University—the host institution of this year's NCAA Metro Region Championship.
