HAMPTON, Va. – On the second day of the NJAC Championships,
Beth Evaldi became a three-time conference champion while being joined by teammates
Melody Lin and
Jenna Ringel on the podium.
To claim the conference crown for the second year in a row, Evaldi posted a 398.20. Lin secured second place for the second straight year with a 343.40. Finally, Ringel took third place to confirm the event sweep with a 310.50.
In swimming,
Sarah Mandy (13
th, 5:16.00) led the way in the 500 freestyle, while
Bridget Cleveland (13
th, 24.71) paced TCNJ in the 50 freestyle. Cleveland was one of six Lions to post a new lifetime best time.
Emma Zakutney (25.38) and
Mary Kate Owens (25.49) also logged new personal bests in the 50 freestyle alongside Cleveland. In the 500 freestyle,
Katie Mazzacco (5:16.14),
Emma Vindigni (5:30.02), and
Caroline Gemelli (5:32.06) all improved upon their previous best times.
With the first half of the NJAC Championships over with, the Lions will look to carry the momentum into day three tomorrow.
