2/8/2026 3:36:00 PM

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. & BOSTON, Mass. – The TCNJ men's track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend, with one part of the team in Staten Island and another at the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Maxim Rychkov continued his weekly tradition of resetting records to raise the program standard yet again this year, highlighting the action-packed week.

ECAC/IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS

Rychkov had set a new program record in the 200m earlier in the season, but he wasn't satisfied with his previous mark of 21.29. In the prelims on Saturday, Rychkov posted a 21.19—the fastest non-converted time in DIII so far this year. In the finals on Sunday, Rychkov finished in third place (21.30). Rychkov also anchored the 4x400m, where he, Noah Traverso, Anthony Senatore, and Victor Akinboboye posted a time of 3:14.73. They placed fourth, and their time is currently the fastest non-converted time in DIII this year.

TCNJ enjoyed another elite performance in the DMR, as Kevin Matthews, Tyler Seaton, Thomas Blach, and Brandon Chen combined for an impressive third-place finish in 9:58.79. That time is currently the second-fastest in DIII, and is also about one second slower than TCNJ's program record time.

In the 400m, Lebron Rose and Anthony Senatore finished one after another while setting new PR times. Rose finished in 17th with a time of 49.26, while Senatore finished in 18th with a time of 49.35.

BIG APPLE INVITATIONAL

Six Lions ran the mile at Saturday's Big Apple Invitational, with Evan Melito headlining the group with a third-place finish (4:20.56). In the 400m, Nihar Tantry (18th, 51.65) paced the four Lions involved, while Will Evarts (3rd, 1:57.09) and David Keefe (5th, 1:59.39) both placed inside the top five in the 800m.

Zach Salib then placed 11th (22.86) out of 50 runners in the 200m. In the 3000m, Ryan Segalla finished runner-up (8:44.90) and was joined in the top ten by Anthony Guarino and his sixth-place finish (8:50.19). To round out the track events, TCNJ's A relay of Brody Dillich, Salib, Tantry, and Jack Bewalder placed fourth in the 4x400m (3:30.28).

The action in the field was highlighted by several top-five finishes and a dominant day for the throwers. Freshman Maxwell Reilly leapt to an impressive third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.85m. In the pole vault, Matthew Corrigan also placed third (4.15m), followed up by Ryan Donnelly's third-place leap in the long jump.

As usual, Braden Paulmenn led the way for the Lions throwers, winning the shot put (14.89m) and placing second in the weight throw (14.27m). In the shot put, Paulmenn was joined in the top five by Jayson Lewis (3rd, 14.33) and Michael Celoski (4th, 13.11m). In the weight throw, it was Xavier Lynch (9th, 12.01m) who joined Paulmenn in the top ten.

FASTRACK NATIONAL INVITE

The Lions 5K crew got the weekend started, as Sean Haggerty, Moksh Patwari, Silas Matteson, William O'Donovan, and Sawyer Stellitano competed at the Fastrack National Invite. Haggerty paced TCNJ in 6th (15:48.56), followed closely behind by Patwari in 7th (15:52.66). Matteson (11th, 16:05.69) and O'Donovan (13th, 16:21.79) also placed among the top fifteen. Stellitano rounded out the group by placing 18th with a time of 16:44.57.
