NEW YORK, N.Y. – The TCNJ women's track and field team competed in the first day of this year's AARTFC Indoor Championships, ending the day tied for eighth place. Sarah Scepkowski and TCNJ's 4x400 relay highlighted the day with their top-five finishes.
 
Scepkowski placed fifth in the pentathlon with 3,079 points, thanks in large part to a runner-up performance in both the 60m hurdles (9.15) and the high jump (1.55m). She also placed fourth in the shot put (9.42m). As a result, she improved two spots from her seventh-place finish at indoor regionals last year.
 
ON THE TRACK

• Kelsey Thomas, Kelly O'Grady, Brenna Omert, and Rukky Daranijo combined for a third-place finish in the 4x400 (3:52.44), improving one spot from last year's meet.
• Teagan Walker and Ella Daly represented the Lions in the 5000m. Walker placed 18^th in a personal-best time of 18:26.80, while Ella Daly finished in 22^nd in 18:39.65.
• Lucia Garcia-Beltran finished first in the 60m prelims with a time of 7.56, setting herself up nicely for the finals tomorrow.

 
IN THE FIELD

• Allison Lavin was the one Lion in action in the field, and she placed 20^th in the shot put (11.45m).
