Men's T&F Resets Decades-Old DMR Program Record in Philly, Shows Out at Rick McCorkle Invite

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. & EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's track and field team enjoyed another positive weekend, with the DMR's record breaking run highlighting the last action in April. The Lions competed at the Penn Relays as well as their home Rick McCorkle Invite, which was renamed this year in honor of the legendary head coach.
 
PENN RELAYS
  • Kevin Matthews, Isaiah Muse, Thomas Blach, and Brandon Chen took down a 21-year-old program outdoor DMR record, posting a time of 9:53.29. Matthews set the Lions on an excellent pace early, running the opening 1200 in 3:00.28.
  • Nate Adams was the lone Lion in action on Thursday in Philadelphia, where he was the only DIII competitor in the 400 hurdles. The junior posted a 53.04 in the race en route to a 25th-place finish amongst a talented field.
  • Adams, Noah Traverso, Lebron Rose, and Maxim Rychkov combined for a time of 3:12.13 in the 4x400. In doing so, they finished ahead of the only other DIII relay in the event (Rowan).
 
RICK MCCORKLE INVITATIONAL – TRACK
  • Victor Akinboboye finished eighth in the 400 (50.64) out of 42 total participants.
  • Tyler Seaton placed tenth overall and first out of the DIII runners in the 100, recording a time of 11.15. Seaton logged another top-ten finish in the 200 (6th, 22.37).
  • Will Evarts finished first out of the DIII runners in the 800, where he placed sixth overall and posted a personal-best mark of 1:55.79.
  • Andrew Scalercio (4th, 16:02.26) and Silas Matteson (5th, 16:06.84) both ran to top-five finishes in the 5000. Scalercio's time was a personal best while Matteson's was a season best.
  • Anthony Thomas paced the Lions in the 1500 by placing 19th in a season-best 5:15.22. Senan De Silva (21st, 4:15.59) and Tyler Smith (23rd, 4:16.45) also posted personal-best times in the event, finishing a few sports after Thomas.
  • Ryan Segalla, the only DIII runner in the 1500, finished 13th in a personal-best 4:02.22.
 
RICK MCCORKLE INVITATIONAL – FIELD
  • Tyler Kadezabek and Zach Kosinski both equaled their personal bests in the pole vault. Kadezabek finished second overall (4.45m) and Kosinski placed third (4.15m).
  • Ryan Mohr equaled his season-best mark in the javelin, recording a best throw of 53.87m to place second in the event. Braden Paulmenn (5th, 49.63m) and Jeremiah Wilson (8th, 48.08) joined Mohr in the top ten.
  • Paulmenn also placed third overall and first out of the DIII throwers in the shot put (15.41m).
  • Max Reilly led the way for the Lions in the high jump, where he finished second out of the DIII competitors with a personal-best mark of 1.89m.
  • Ryan Donnelly placed tenth in the long jump (6.51m), leading all DIII competitors in the event.
