WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.; AZUSA, Calif.; GALLOWAY, N.J.; CHESTER, Pa. – In their busy and final weekend before the AARTFC Championships, the TCNJ men's track and field team reset three program records to build momentum going into the regional meet and NCAAs.
The Lions were involved in four meets in four days.
Christian Farhat broke the program hammer throw record on Friday to get it started, and was followed up by
Brandon Chen (10K) and
Kevin Matthews' (1500) record-breaking runs on Saturday.
G. LARRY JAMES INVITATIONAL
- Farhat posted a mark of 53.77m in the hammer throw to reset the program hammer throw record.
- Chris Eubanks achieved a personal-best time in the 200 (4th, 22.87) and also ran in the 100 (4th, 11.24).
- Xavier Lynch (38.86m) and Jayson Lewis (38.25m) placed sixth and seventh respectively in the discus. Lewis also competed in the shot put where he placed fourth (14.48m).
FARLEY INTER-REGIONAL MEET
- Matthews ran 3:50.48 in the 1500, breaking John Bayliss' previous program-record mark which had stood since 1982.
- Brandon Chen broke the program 10K record with a time of 29:51.14. Chen finished strong in the last 400, as he posted the fastest time in the field (1:03.12) to move up from fourth to second.
- Thomas Blach placed 11th in the 800 (1:52.82) out of 70 total runners. Will Evarts (1:56.46) placed 31st in the event.
FRANSON LAST CHANCE
- The only D3 runners in the field Noah Traverso (48.10) and Victor Akinboboye (49.50) placed tenth and 25th respectively in the 400.
- Nate Adams (8th, 52.82) and Lebron Rose (12th, 54.62) represented in the Lions in the 400 hurdles.
- Tyler Seaton placed 41st (22.36) in the 200.
WIDENER FINAL QUALIFIER
- Thomas Blach paced four Lions in the 800, posting a time of 1:51.73.
- Zach Salib ran a 22.21 in the 200 to place 17th, while Chris Eubanks placed 28th in 22.84.
- Peter Fragomeni placed 24th in the 400 (50.96).
- Anthony Guarino (54th, 15:16.58) and Moksh Patwari (64th, 15:30.59) both ran in the 5000.
