Mahwah, NJ…The College of New Jersey's women's swimming team tallied an impressive win on Saturday as they beat Ramapo College on Saturday. The Lions women won 138.5-48.5 and are now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC.
TCNJ's sophomore
Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) won the 100 freestyle in 55.31 to help the Lions on Saturday. She was also part of the team's first place 200 freestyle relay lineup that included rookie
Melissa Hessler (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra), senior
Sara Casciano (Hewitt, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy), and senior Stephanie Rashti (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West).
TCNJ also won the 200 medley relay in 1:59.12 as senior
Stacy Delehanty (Oceanport, NJ/Shore Regional), sophomore
Katie Zavoda (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), junior
Christina Falcone (Newtown, PA/Notre Dame), and freshman
Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) excelled.
Zavoda won the 200 freestyle in 2:05.56, while Casciano took home second in 2:06.37, and Delehanty added a third place showing in the race in 2:09.90. Zavoda won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.44.
Junior
Ashley Robb (Blackwood, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) won the 50 freestyle in 26.12, while freshman
Kelsey Herchenrider (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) won the 200 individual medley in 2:23.34.
Hessler was the winner in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.18, while sophomore
Kristen Prentice (Skillman, NJ/Montgomery) added a second in the race in 1:05.53.
Junior
Stephanie Seto (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.00 and freshman
Traci Hofer (Millville, NJ/Millville) captured the 500 freestyle in 5:32.65.
