St. Mary's City, MD…Junior Rachel Gordon (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) scored five times to lead The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team past St. Mary's College on Sunday by the score of 13-9. 
The win put the Lions at 2-0 on the season, while the Seahawks fell to 5-3. 
Senior Karen Doane (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) added to the Lions offense with three goals, while classmate Toni-Anne Cavallo (Cedar Grove, NJ/West Essex) picked up a goal and an assist. Also scoring for the Lions were sophomore Angela Wilmer (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West), freshman Alison Jaeger (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon), junior Katie Reuther (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and freshman Leigh Mitchell (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape). 
Backstopping the win for TCNJ was senior goalie Caitlin Gregory (Winslow, NJ/Eastern) as she finished with nine saves. 
The Lions, ranked fifth in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III poll, return to action on Saturday, March 22 at 15th-ranked SUNY Cortland in a 1 p.m. start.
