Hoboken, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's swimming team remained undefeated on the young season with a win at Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday, while in Hoboken.
The Lion women improved to 3-0 with a 150-112 victory.
Freshman Kristyn Wikoff (Shrewsbury, NJ/Red Bank Regional) had a big meet winning both the 100 backstroke (1:03.58) and the 200 backstroke (2:14.28).
Sophomore Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) was a part of three wins as she touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly (59.59) and was also part of two winning relays. She teamed up with Traci Hofer (Millville, NJ/Millville), Katie Morgan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), and Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) as the Lions won the 200 medley relay in 1:52.28 and then swam with Hofer, Melissa Hessler (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra), and Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) on the winning 400 free relay team boasting a time of 3:41.39.
Hessler added a first-place effort in the 1,000 free winning the longest race of the meet in 10:56.68. Molloy took top honors in the 200 free with a clocking of 1:58.60, while Morgan won the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.29. Shangle added to the win by placing first in the 100 breast in 1:08.41.
