Ewing, NJ… As part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's initiative to raise cancer awareness and show support to those stricken within the coaching profession, fans are encouraged to wear pink to the February 14 basketball games between The College of New Jersey and Rowan University at Packer Hall.
On that date, TCNJ's basketball teams will sponsor a “PinkZone” in conjunction with the Lions' home basketball contests with Rowan. “Pink Zone” is a unified effort created by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) to raise breast cancer awareness across campuses and communities worldwide. This year, over 700 organizations nationwide are participating in the program.
The women's contest tips at 1:00 p.m. and the men's game follows at 3:00 p.m. All fans attending the contests are encouraged to wear pink to the games.
TCNJ will wear pink shooting shirts as well as pink shoelaces, while the Lion men's team will wear special pink shoelaces as well for the contest.
TCNJ will donate half of the day's gate receipts to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.
