Women's tennis team tallies key win as Shtemberg earns 100th career win

Saratoga Springs, NY –The College of New Jersey women's tennis team collected a 5-4 decision over Skidmore College on Sunday afternoon. Ranked 27th in Division III and No. 10 in the Northeast region, TCNJ is now 7-0 on the young season, while No. 24 nationally and No. 8 regionally ranked Skidmore is now 3-1.

TCNJ has now won nine consecutive regular-season dual matches dating back to the spring of 2008.

TCNJ's junior Jackie Shtemberg (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) tallied a win over sophomore Danika Robison (South Burlington, VT) at first singles as she posted a win with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Shtemberg and her partner, freshman Felice Trinh (Linden, NJ/Linden) teamed for the win at first doubles marking the 100th career win for Shtemberg as she is now 100-27.

Sophomore Rachel Loeb (Greenwood Village, CO) recorded a win at number two singles for the Thoroughbreds with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over TCNJ's junior Stefanie Haar (Morganville, NJ/Marlboro).
