Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey boasted a pair of All-American relay teams as both the men's and women's distance medley relay teams placed in the top eight in their respective races to earn that honor.

The Lion runners secured their All-American citations on the opening day of the 2009 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. on Friday.

The women's DMR team of senior Stephanie Herrick (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), sophomore Meryl Wimberly (Farmingdale, NJ/Colts Neck), junior Jianna Spadaccini (Butler, NJ/Butler), and freshman Claire Johnson (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) finished fourth overall with a clocking of 11:49.71.

The men's team of sophomore Dennie Waite (Little Silver, NJ/Red Bank Catholic), senior Rob McGowan (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp), senior Pasquale DiGioacchino (Bernardsville, NJ/Bernards), and sophomore TJ Bocchino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) combined for a time of 10:06.35 to place eighth in their event.

In addition to being on the women's DMR, Spadaccini also ran in the 400 meters and topped her qualifying mark with a time of 58.29 seconds to place third in her heat.
