Haverford, PA –The College of New Jersey's baseball team tallied a 5-4 win over Haverford College on Friday to put the Lions at 6-6-1, while Haverford drops to 2-7-1.

TCNJ's senior Adam Tussey (Brooklawn, NJ/Gloucester) would go 3-5 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI, while senior dh Jeff Toth (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville) would draw four walks and steal a pair of bases for the Lions.

TCNJ's senior third baseman Vince Mazzaccaro (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) put the Lions on the board first with an RBI single in the top of the third as the Lions lead 3-0 heading into the bottom half of the inning before Haverford pulled within a run, down 3-2.

In the top of the fourth inning the Lions pulled ahead as rookie catcher Mike Galeotafiore (Brick, NJ/CBA) doubles to center field with an out and would eventually score on a throwing error. Tussey would drive in sophomore Anthony Palmiotto (Manchester, NJ/Manchester Township) who reached on a walk and gave the Lions a 5-2 lead.

Haverford would tack on a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth, but the Lions held on for the win.

TCNJ's senior pitcher Dan Ramos-Dominko (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon) would collect the win after throwing six innings with one earned run and eight strikeouts. He stands at 1-2 on the year. Senior pitcher Eric Gerti (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) earned his second save of the year after working 1.1 innings with no hits and a strikeout. Gertie is pulling closer to breaking the Lions' career saves record as he now has 11, just two shy of tying the mark established by Nick Maddelena (13, 1999-2002).

TCNJ returns to action on Saturday hosting Ursinus College in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
