Ewing, NJ –The College of New Jersey's baseball team hosted Gwynedd-Mercy College on Wednesday in a non-conference contest on Wednesday. TCNJ would come from behind in the bottom of the eighth inning to collect an 11-9 win. TCNJ is now 7-7-1, while the Griffins drop to 11-7.
The Lions would come from behind and take the lead for good in the bottom of the eighth inning as they collected four runs off four hits in the inning. Senior

Ryan Anzelone (Vernon, NJ/Vernon Township) singled to drive in Mazzaccaro, the go ahead run and went to second on the throw. Toth would come home on the play as he advanced on the throw.

Sean Flanagan (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) would collect the win in relief after working one full innings and allowing one hit. Senior pitcher
Eric Gertie (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) added his third save of the year after working the ninth inning and holding a Griffin rally in check. Flanagan is now 1-1 on the year. Gertie has now moved even closer to TCNJ's career saves mark as he now has 12, just one shy of tying the mark set by Nick Maddalena (1999-2002) with 13.
Sophomore
Greg Spatz (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Township) started for the Lions working three innings with seven earned runs off eight hits. Senior
Pat Johnson (Hamilton Square, NJ/Steinert) worked four innings with an earned run off three hits with seven strikeouts.
GWC's freshman Andrew Sinon (Levittown, PA/Conwell-Egan) started for the Griffins and threw 3.2 innings, yielding three earned runs off eight hits with a strikeout. Middleton would work 3.2 innings with six earned runs off nine hits with a pair of strikeouts and drops to 2-2.
At the plate for the Lions, Mazzaccaro would go 3-4 with three RBIs, while sophomore
Anthony Palmiotto (Manchester, NJ/Manchester Township) was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Senior Nick DiEnno (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) was 3-5 with a run scored and three RBIs on the day with a double.
