Ramapo, NJ …The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team improved to 2-0 on the season as the Lions raced past Ramapo College 149-98.
It was the second conference win in as many weeks as TCNJ is headed in the right direction in repeating as New Jersey Athletic Conference champions.
Senior
Danielle Dilts (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) won a pair of individual events placing first in the 50 free (26.35) and returning to win the 500-yard freestyle event with a finish of 5:28.88.
Junior
Danielle Morrone (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) also excelled for the Lions winning the 100-yard butterfly in 1:03.86 and contributing to the 200-yard medley relay winning time of 1:50.39. Sophomore
Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park), freshman
Ashley Conroy (Toms River,NJ/Monsignor Donovan), and senior
Katie Morgan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) were also part of the 200 medley win.
Sophomore
Jen Zavoda (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) took first in the 1000-yard free event (11:19.66), sophomore
Samantha Parlow (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) tapped the wall first in the 200 free (2:05.86), and junior
Kelsey Herchenrider (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.02.
The women travel up to Southern Connecticut State University next Saturday, November 6 for a 2 p.m. meet. It will be a challenging meet for the Lions
