Lancaster, PA … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team won its fourth meet of the young season as coach Jen Harnett's squad remained perfect with a 161-99 victory at Franklin and Marshall College.
Senior Margaret Molloy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), junior Danielle Morrone (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley), and sophomore Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) won multiple events as TCNJ dominated the Diplomats from start to finish.
Molloy won the 1000 free with a time of 10:38.89 and also led the 200-yard freestyle relay to a first-place finish posting a time of 1:43.22.
Morrone continued her surge during her junior season winning a pair of individual events, along with contributing to the 200 medley relay winning time of 1:52.93. Morrone won 100-yard butterfly with a winning time of 1:01.73 and also took first in the 50 fly touching the wall in 27.53.
Shangle showed her versatility taking two individual firsts along with a win in the 200-medley relay. She won the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.02 and posted 54.09 to win the 100-free. The Lions tallied 16 points in the 50 breast as junior Kelsey Herchenrider (Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Regional) and senior Katie Zavoda (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) took second and third with times of 32.83 and 33.46.
Senior Katie Morgan (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) took first in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:10.24 and junior Traci Hofer (Millville, NJ/Millville) tallied a win in the 100 back (1:01.30).
The Lions dive back into competition this Friday at the Rutgers Frank Elms Super Splash held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. It's a three-day meet that will include mostly Division I competition.
