Ewing, NJ ... The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team put forth its second impressive performance in as many days as they defeated Southern Connecticut State University 187-109.
The Lions won 10 out of 12 individual swimming events, the opening 200-yard medley relay race, and both diving events to capture their third win of the season.
Senior
Melissa Hessler (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) paced TCNJ with first-place finishes in both distance freestyle events. She posted a time of 11:03.79 in the 1000-yard and 5:23.78 in the 500-free. Classmate
Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) also produced wins in sprint events, topping the field in the 100-free and 100-yard butterfly events. Pierce posted times of 53.19 (free) and 57.42 (fly). Her time in the 100-fly was an NCAA provisional qualifier.
Pierce also raced in the 200-yard medley relay with sophomore
Ashley Conroy (Toms River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan), senior
Kelsey Herchenrider (Cape May, NJ/Cape May Lower Regional), and junior
Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park). They registered a winning time of 1:51.80.
Conroy took top honors in the 100-back (1:02.19) while Shangle won the 100-breast in 1:07.79. Senior
Amanda Waldner (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) cruised to a first-place finish in the 50-free, posting a time of 25.90.

Danica Roskos (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) won both the 1- and 3-meter events. She posted scores of 320.50 (3-meter) and 288.65 (1-meter) to register two more wins. Sophomore
