Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team defeated Franklin and Marshall College 169-93 on Sunday in TCNJ's Aquatic Center.
It was the fourth win in eight days for the Lions, who are now a perfect 4-0 in dual meets this season. Junior
Kayleigh Shangle (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) and freshman
Brennah Ross (Paoli, PA/Cyber Charter School) led a crop of winners that placed first in nine individual events in the meet.
Shangle touched the wall first in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.46) and 100-breast (1:07.12). She also raced in the 400-yard medley relay which TCNJ won with a time of 4:04.49. Shangle was joined by Ross, sophomore
Hailey Growney (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills), and senior
Laura Pierce (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West).
Ross had another terrific outing winning the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.45) and 50-fly (27.51). She took part in both winning relay teams including the 400-freestyle relay. The reigning NJAC Rookie of the Week teamed with Pierce, Growney, and
Caroline Kelly (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) to seize victory with a finish of 3:47.06.
Pierce also placed first in the 50-free, registering a time of 24.21, while Growney took top honors in the 100-back finishing in 1:01.90.
Junior
Samantha Parlow (Brick, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) won the 400-individual medley posting a finish of 4:47.77.
The Lions will compete next in the Princeton Invitational Meet this Friday and Saturday at Princeton University.
