Lawrenceville, NJ... The College of New Jersey men's indoor track and field team dropped an 89-74 decision to nearby Rider University as the Lions had a host of strong performances on Sunday at Lawrenceille Prep.
Senior
Kyle Gilroy (Oak Ridge, NJ/West Milford) earned a pair of first-place finishes as he boasted a NCAA provisional time of 7.62 seconds in the 55-meter high hurdles and then ran an ECAC qualifying time of 22.77 seconds in the 200 meters.
Junior
Christopher Medina (Lakewood, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) added to TCNJ's success in the sprints as he ran a fast time of 6.56 seconds to win the 55 dash, while earning an ECAC cut in the process.
TCNJ's sprinters teamed up to win the 4x400 relay as the quartet of
Steven D'Aiutolo (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson),
Kevin Mulcahey (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), Oluwaseye Akele (Jersey, NJ/McNair), and
Justin Worthing (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) combined for a top time of 3:24.14, which was an ECAC cut.
Senior
Kyle Roos (Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway) shined in the 3,000 meters as he won the longest race of the day in 8:52.65.
In the high jump, freshman
Scott Lisa (Highland Parks, NJ/Vernon) had another strong meet as he won the event with a ECAC height of an even two meters.
D'Aiutolo was second in the triple jump with a NCAA provisional distance of 14.09 meters.
