Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey men's basketball team fell victim to a sharp-shooting Richard Stockton College offense as they were defeated 81-53 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night in Packer Hall.

Alex Fox (Washington Twp., NJ/Westwood) led the Lions (0-4, 0-2 NJAC) with a career-high 16 points and six rebounds. Junior
Skyelar Ettin (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) hit 6-of-10 shots to finish with 13 points and sophomore
Jayson Johnson (Bordentown, NJ/Life Center Academy) chipped in with 10 points.
The Ospreys (4-0, 2-0 NJAC) won their fourth straight game to open their season. They shot 59 percent from the floor, tallying the majority of their points off interior passes as they scored 54 points in the paint. Junior
Rameel Johson (Newark, NJ/Science Park) led the Osprey offense with a game-high 17 points. Senior guard
Darnell McCargo (Woodlynne, NJ/Collingswood) had 14 points and junior guard
Kevin Johnson (Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro) dished out a game-high seven assists.
The Ospreys took command early shooting 55 percent from the floor and netting 20 points off turnovers in the opening half. Johnson hit four-of-six shots to spark a 47-25 advantage at the intermission.
Fox was a bright spot for TCNJ, scoring the first nine points of the game for the Lions. He had a hand in the teams' first 11 points when he assisted on a 15-foot jumper by
Jayson Johnson.
Richard Stockton continued to produce off the transition in the second half. Junior
Mike Perry (Mt. Laurel, NJ/The Peddie School) was a force under the boards as he collected a game-high 11 rebounds. He also hit five-of-six shots on the night.
Lions sophomore
DJ Griffin (Piscataway, NJ/Bishop George) brought the crowd to its feet when he stripped the ball of an Osprey guard at midcourt, carried the ball down, and hammered home a left-handed jam for two points.
TCNJ will look for their first win when they visit Kean University on Saturday in a non-conference match-up at 1 p.m., while Stockton hosts NJAC opponent William Paterson University at 3 p.m.
