TCNJ runners hit ECAC marks in dual with Rider

Lawrenceville, NJ...The College of New Jersey men's indoor track and field team fell to neighboring Rider University 100-67 in a dual meet held at The Lawrenceville School on Saturday.

The Lions had a number of top finishers starting with senior Christopher Medina (Lakewood, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) in the 55-dash as he ran an ECAC qualifying mark of 6.49 seconds. Medina also added a second-place effort in the 200 meters with a clocking of 22.70 seconds, which was another ECAC mark.   
 
Junior Steven D'Aiutolo (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) also earned a first-place finish with an ECAC qualifying distance of 14.29 meters in the triple jump. His effort etched his name into the school record books.
 
Junior Julio Alorro (Cresskill, NJ/Cresskill) garnered another top finish for the Lions as he won the pole vault clearing a height of 4.50 meters.
 
TCNJ also won the 4x400 as the quartet of Michael Spekhardt (Sparta, NJ/Sparta), Alex Brown (Hillsborough, NJ/Montgomery), D'Aiutolo, and Erik Moutenot (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) combined for a top time of 3:22.84. That time qualified them for the ECAC Championships.
 
In the mile, Shaun McGeever (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown South) ran his was to a second-place finish as he qualified for the ECAC Championships with a time of 4:18.97. TCNJ kept those ECAC qualifying times coming in the distance events as Dominic Tasco (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:30.17 and Andy Herschman (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) finished in that same spot in the 3,000. Herschman boasted a time of 8:47.04, which met ECAC standards.
 
In the field events, sophomore Scott Lisa (Highland Lakes, NJ/Vernon) cleared 1.98 meters as he earned a spot in the upcoming ECAC Championships. He finished second in the event.
