Meet results
Ewing, NJ ... The College of New Jersey women's outdoor track and field program hosted the Lions' Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday afternoon at TCNJ's Track and Field Complex.
Athletes from over 20 institutions flocked to the Ewing campus to take their final shot at qualifying for NCAA championship competition. Individuals must post a time, height, or distance that falls in the top 16 performances this spring to receive an invite to the national tournament. The cut-off date for qualifiers is Friday, May 18.
Senior
Alyssa Bannon (Spotswood, NJ/Bishop Ahr) won the 1500-meter event with a time of 4:34.86. She entered the day with the 20
th fastest time in Division III and is contention to qualify in that event. Senior
Katie Nestor (Allendale, NJ/Northern Highlands) took third in the race and also shaved over four seconds off her best time by completing the race in 4:37.51.
Sophomore
Katie Knight (Ocean Twp, NJ/Ocean Township) posted a season-best time of 15.31 in the 100-meter hurdles. Freshman
Michelle Cascio (Washington, NJ/Westwood Regional) also set a new top time in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish in 59.08.
Graduate
Brianna Brennan (Marlton, NJ/Holy Cross) threw the spear 37.79 meters to place third in the javelin. Junior
Julianne Grandal (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) finished fifth with a season-best throw of 35.58 meters.
Sophomore
Jack Chester (Pennington, NJ/Hopewell Valley) followed up her record-breaking performance on Monday to win the pole vault event. She cleared a height of 3.46 meters. Freshman
Brigit Milorey (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) placed third, clearing a season-best 2.86 meters.
The 2012 NCAA Division III National Championships will be held from Thursday, May 24 through Saturday, May 26 in Claremont, California. The meet will take place at Fritz B. Burns Stadium on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
