Hoboken, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team ran into a talented Stevens Institute of Technology squad as the fifth-ranked Ducks bested the Lions 147-109 in Hoboken, NJ on Saturday.
Freshman
Brenna Strollo (Long Branch, NJ/Biotechnology) shined in the loss, winning three individual events on the day. She took top honors in the 200-individual medley with a time of 2:17.63, the 100-backstroke in 1:01.83, and the 200-back in 2:12.37.
In that 200-IM, the Lions swept the top three spots as seniors
Amy Schurer (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and
Hailey Growney (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) placed second and third. Schurer raced to the finish in 2:20.77 and Growney in 2:21.97.
Junior
Brennah Ross (Paoli, PA/PA Cyber Charter School) claimed the blue ribbon in the 100-butterfly. She won the event in 1:00.86, while junior
Summer Thomas (North Plainfield, NJ/Metuchen) placed third with a time of 1:03.48. Thomas also finished runner-up in the 200-free in 2:01.48 as did Ross in the 50-free (25.01).

Lauren Rothstein (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview), and Ross combined to win the final event of the meet. They touched the wall first in the 400-free relay in 3:44.49.
TCNJ is now 3-2 on the season.
The next competition for TCNJ will at its aquatic center when they host the Lions' Invitational from Friday, December 6 through Sunday, December 8.
