Meet resultsGlassboro, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team rose to the occasion at Rowan University as they dominated the Profs with 188-100 victory on Saturday afternoon in Glassboro, NJ.

The Lions are now in prime position to claim their seventh consecutive New Jersey Athletic Conference championship. TCNJ handed the Profs their second NJAC loss and can raise another NJAC trophy with a victory over William Paterson University at home on Saturday, February 7
th at 2 p.m.

In a complete team effort, TCNJ captured nine individual events, both relay races and a pair of diving events. Senior
Summer Thomas (North Plainfield, NJ/Metuchen) accounted for three of those individual victories and also contributed to the 400-freestyle relay win. Thomas took top honors in the 1000-free (10:58.06), 200-free (1:58.46) and 500-free (5:21.90). She was joined by and sisters
Lauren Rothstein (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional), freshman
Ali Huber (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and
Emily Rothstein (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) in posting a winning time of 3:44.06.

Freshman
Marta Lawler (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) notched a pair of wins in the 100- and 200-breaststroke events. She won the sprint breast in 1:11.47 and the 200 in 2:33.01. Lawler also competed in the 200-individual medley and placed second with a time of 2:20.64.

The Lions swept a pair of events to put some distance between them and Rowan on the scoreboard. In the 50-free,
Brennah Ross (Paoli, PA/Cyber Charter School), Emily Rothstein and Huber went 1-2-3 to garner 16 points. Ross finished in 25.19, followed by Rothstein (25.66) and Huber (25.67). In the 100-free,
Lauren Rothstein was the event winning with a time of 55.03. Her sister Emily placed second in 55.22 and Huber took third place in 56.25.

TCNJ finished one-two in the 100-backstroke event. Sophomore
Brenna Strollo (Long Branch, NJ/Biotechnology) reached back to win the race in 1:00.37, while freshmen
Katie Kilfeather (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) clocked 1:02.05 to earn runner-up.

Kilfeather returned to the waters to take top honors in the 200-back. She registered a winning time of 2:15.31 followed by classmate
Jill Galindo (Millstone Twp., NJ/Rutherford), who finished second in 2:18.68.

On the board, sophomore
Sarah Grassi (Oaklyn, NJ/Camden Catholic) won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. She tallied 273.53 points to claim the 1-meter and 279.08 points to win the 3-meter.
TCNJ set the tone early in the meet, defeating Rowan in the 200-medley relay event. Kilfeather, Lawler, Strollo and Ross combined for a winning time of 1:53.26.

The Lions are off next weekend and return to action in TCNJ's Aquatic Center on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m.. With a victory over WPU, TCNJ would clinch the NJAC championship on Senior Day.
