Lawrenceville, NJ… In what has become a winter tradition, The College of New Jersey women's indoor track and field team squared off with neighboring Rider University in the annual dual meet held at Lawrenceville Prep.

In this year's edition, the Bronsc women topped the Lions 97-68.

Senior Michelle Cascio (Washington Twp., NJ/Westwood) had a good meet for the Lions in the sprinting events as she won the 200 meters in 25.98 seconds and was second in the 55-meter dash in 7.26 seconds. Her time in the 200 also met ECAC standards.

Senior Katelyn Ary (Closter, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) crossed the finish line first in the 400 meters in 58.77 seconds and was closely followed by teammate Senior Joy Spriggs (Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick). Spriggs took second with a time of 59.54 seconds and both time were ECAC cuts.

Spriggs, Cascio and Ary then teamed up with freshman Emily Mead (Sparta, NJ/Sparta) in the 4x400 relay to win that event. The quartet combined for a time of 3:58.29, which qualified them for the ECAC Championships.

Junior Courtney Paciulli (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East) also added a first-place finished as she bounced her way to a top distance of 11.30 meters in the triple jump. That distance blew by the ECAC qualifying standards by nearly a half of a meter.

The Lions finished second and third in the 800 meters with senior Megan Stack (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) taking second in an ECAC time of 2:17.36 and freshman Allison Fournier (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) was third in 2:21.24.

Senior Tara Nealon (Howell, NJ/Howell) was second mile as she completed the race in 5:20.30.

TCNJ also performed well in the throwing events with a pair of second-place finishes. Senior Joan Hales (North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick) boasted a season-best and ECAC distance of 15.40 meters in the weight throw, while junior Kristen VanBenschoten (Cranford, NJ/Cranford) had a heave of 11.40 in the shot put.
