Meet Results
New Haven, CT…. The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team started their regular season against Division II opponent Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday. The Lions fell by a tight margin of 147-137 to the Owls.
Senior
Brenna Strollo (Long Branch, NJ / Biotechnology HS) clocked in a first place time of 2:12.98 in the 200 yard backstroke.
Marta Lawler (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill East) was first to the wall in two individual events. She won the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:11.39 and the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:32.80.
Sophomore
Gabi Denicola (Oradell, NJ/River Dell Regional) was the runner up in both the 500 yard freestyle (5:33.20) and the 1000 yard freestyle (11:14.24).
Emily Rothstein (Mullica Hill, NJ / Clearview) also took second place honors in the 100 yard freestyle (56.22) and 200 yard freestyle (2:02.95).
Rothstein and Strollo were joined by
Robin Lukens (Mantua, NJ / Clearview Regional) and
Allison Huber (South Plainfield, NJ / South Plainfield) as they came in first place in the 200 yard relay freestyle.
TCNJ took the first two spots in the 1-meter dive. Junior
Hannah Raymond (Burlington, NJ / Burlington Township) scored 252.16 points for a first place finish and Senior
Sarah Grassi (Oaklyn, NJ / Camden Catholic) came in second with 242.62 points.
The Lions will be in Ewing,NJ this Friday October 28
th, as they begin their New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule against Montclair State University.
