Blue/Gold Invitational Results

Ewing, N.J. …
The College of New Jersey women's cross country team hosted its annual Blue/Gold Invitational this morning and TCNJ runners took two of the top ten spots in the 5k event. Also participating in the event were Division I programs Rider and St. Joseph's University.

The first of the Lions to cross the line was Natalie Cooper (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown), who ran a time of 19:18, which put her in seventh place overall. Coming in ninth place was Erin Holzbaur (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) with a time of 19.29.

Also running strong times were Madeline Tattory (Delran, NJ/Delran), Allison Fournier (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley), and Alyssa Buccino (Dunellen, NJ/Dunellen), who all finished in the top twenty.

Always an enjoyable event for the Lions' cross country program, a large contingency of alumni competed in the race. While their times may not have been the same as their collegiate days, several still race competitively and most continue to be recreational runners.

The next race for the Lions is the Rider Invitational on September 16 at 11 a.m.
