Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey women's swimming and diving team put forth a dominant performance on Saturday, defeating William Paterson University, 175-98 in its final home meet of the season.

Competing in their final home meet, seniors
Brenna Strollo (Long Branch, NJ/Biotechnology) and
Sarah Grassi (Oaklyn, NJ/Camden Catholic) were honored prior to the meet. Strollo went on to lead both the 200-medley and 400-freestyle relays to victory. Grassi won both the 1-meter event (310.80) and 3-meter event (310.20) in the diving well.

Junior
Marta Lawler (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) posted a pair of first-place finishes in the 200-freestyle and 100-breaststroke events. She won the free in 2:04.41 and the breast in 1:09.71. Junior
Ali Huber (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) also captured multiple events, winning the 100-butterfly and 1000-freestyle. She posted times of 1:04.57 in the fly and 11:58.01 in the distance free.

Cassidy Bergeron (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) took top honors in the 100-free
and Jill Galindo (Millstone Twp., NJ/Allentown) won the 100-back. Sophomore
Hailey Thayer (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) touched the wall firs in the 200-back, junior
Debbie Meskin (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) defeated the field in the 200-fly, and freshman
Kazia Moore (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) sprinted to a win in the 50-free.

The Lions will prepare to compete in the 2017 Metropolitan Conference Championships in two weeks. The meet is held at Rutgers University and runs from Friday, February17 through Sunday, February 19. TCNJ finished runner-up in 2016.
